Fairy Tales

“Fairy tales are more than true: Not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be defeated.”

~Neil Gaiman, Coraline

I would give you an argument for reading fairy tales, but a) others have already done an excellent job of that (cf. J.R.R. Tolkien’s On Fairy Tales and Kyle Robert Shultz’s article in their defense), and b) if you’re here, chances are you don’t need convincing.

I love the simplicity, imagination, and hopefulness of fairy tales.  To that end, I have written some myself.  All of them are loosely inspired by well-known fairy tales, but I’ve tried to put my own spin on them and give you something that feels original and fresh.
